Double Pole Wide Field & Soapbar Bass Pickups

Model No.WOM4, WOM5, WOM6
Most of you (I guess) will look at these and be reminded of what has probably become the second choice
of bass after the iconic P and J style basses we all know and love, but what some of you may not know is
that this pickup was in fact another design from the very innovative and creative mind of Leo Fender. Now
Leo was a great fan of the “ceramic magnet”. After years and years of working with Alnico magnets  Leo
discovered the excellent propoerties of what some perceieve as a cheap alternative to  Aluminum, Cobalt
and Nickel (Alnico). How do I know this ? quite simply, he told me !! Expanding on his technology sharing
personality has allowd me design and build very economical great sounding pickups for both guitar and bass,
however I have to say that the bass side really lends itself to the “WONDERS OF CERAMIC MAGNETS.
Don’t consider these as just inexpensive pickups, no they don’t cost extortionate amounts of dollars but
they sound just as expensive.

Model No. WOJH4,WOJH5
Commonly known as a “soapbar style” these pickups were made popular in the 80s’ by major builders like
Mike Tobias and other US high dollar custom bass builders. Their blade style sensing bars make them ideal
for more contempory styles of bass and because of this construction they give consistency across a wide
range of narrow or wide string spacing, the strings get sensed by the magnets and coil with no “pole piece”

drop off that you sometimes get with conventional round pole pieces.Hum-cacelling consrtruction further
enhanced by being
completly sealed in high density epoxy these pickups are amongst the most reliable,
quiet and consistent available
anywhere.

sometimes get with conventional round pole pieces.Hum-cacelling consrtruction further enhanced by
